Simple, yet oh so pretty

I am always intrigued by the creative insight of our customers.  When we first spoke with the stationer who brought this into our studio, he described what his client was looking for.  Part of her vision was a wax seal.  As an easier option, we recommended a simple laser cut element that would function in a similar manner.  Tied with a pretty bow, these laser cut wedding bells are just so adorable!  The bride was also desiring an accessory card with gold foil stamp on a dark paper, but it was a bit out of the budget.  Instead, we recommended printing the Aubergine color on our Old Gold cardstock and the result was ... Amazing!
Wine Country Elegance

This is perhaps one of my favorite designs of this season!  It is for a wonderful couple getting married in Napa (yum!).  They were seeking old world elegance with only a touch of "wine theme."  We used vintage woodcut patterns, carefully redrawing for letterpress.  The suite also featured foil stamp and an intricate belly band inspired by another piece of woodcut artwork.  With letterpress, laser cut, foil stamp on our letterpress paper, metallic cardstocks and vellum papers ... it was a true work of art.

Super gorgeous Spanish theme invite

Katherine contacted us because of our LA Style gatefold (above).  She envisioned it as the perfect look for her wedding happening in Mexico.  Her fiancĂ©'s family called Mexico home, so we created two different style invitations; one set for her American guests and another for family and friends in Mexico, each following the etiquette and traditions comfortable to their homeland.  The Mexico guests received tickets, whereas the American guests received RSVP's.  Its the little but important touches that make the invitations truly unique and custom.  This set used Truffle metallic for the gatefolds, Ivory uncoated and Old Gold metallic combined to make for a rustic-but-elegant invitation suite.

Tropical paradise, Bali style

As a destination wedding location, could you pick a more exotic, romantic place than Bali?  Even better, what if it was your family's homeland?  Judy contacted us with the vision of a Bali-inspired invitation that reflected the beauty and passion of Bali.  She asked for a Barong, a lion-like mythical creature often used in celebrations, to decorate the front.  We created an elaborate belly band, perfect in our Azalea metallic cardstock.  The custom pocket was created in our lush Truffle metallic, and the inserts were printed on Pearl White metallic.  As a KatBlu specialty, we printed the envelopes front and back to create a cohesive suite.

Double Happiness and dual language, elegantly designed

Fei came to us, desiring a modern interpretation of traditional Chinese paper cut.  I was absolutely ecstatic, as I am such a fan of this amazing art form.  The cover of this piece was a delight to create! She also needed her invitation in Chinese as well as American English which we printed back to back.  So, using the Chinese "Double Happiness" symmetry as a design feature, we laser cut it on the corner of the invite... viewed from either side it beautifully symbolized the union of two languages, two worlds brought together by love and elegance.

Her suite featured custom laser cut and digital printing our colors of Ruby, Old Gold, Gold Dust, and a touch of Violette.

Fanciful fantastic invites, fast!

Jack contacted us to create custom invitations that were to be used as a memorabilia for their guests.  The bride and groom reside in Australia, their family live in China and they were getting married in Bali.  We developed this suite, coordinating with Jack over the phone (because of the 14 hour time difference, he would stay up very late to wait until we were in the studio ... I am continually amazed by our awesomely dedicated clients) over the course of 5 days... we needed to ship partial to China and the remainder to Bali - in one week!  By working with our wonderful client, his family in China, the resort in Bali and FedEx, everything was delivered on time.  Whew!  We were honored to make it happen.

Life is Sweeter with awesome clients like this!

When we received an inquiry from Liana Lee describing her vision for her wedding invitations, we knew just what to do.  She wanted to use something with an apple, as her fiancĂ© calls her "his little apple."

We already had a tree-inspired gatefold, but added two apples onto the the front.  Liana wanted an Azalea and Celedon Green colorscheme.  She also forwarded a pic of her wedding veil.  KatBlu's Lead Designer, Markie, was inspired by the veil and created the leaf pattern around the invite.  As two-color letterpress, the effect was soft, luxurious, gorgeous!  We also used the leaf pattern to laser cut from the edge of the program, creating a lacey, delicate look.

We continued to be inspired by the apple theme, by weaving the "Life is Sweeter" theme throughout the invitation and party accessories, including on the custom envelope liner.
